Job summary

University of California, Davis seeks a dedicated researcher to support wildlife and fish biology projects in the Fangue Laboratory. The role emphasizes lab and field experiments, data collection, and rigorous reporting of findings in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate and monitor aquatic research equipment, maintain fish stocks, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards while collaborating across disciplines within the department.

Qualifications

• Must be certified for operation of UC owned vessels (MOTC).
• Valid California driver's license and driving record per local policy.
• No minimum education requirement.
• Experience conducting behavioral and physiological studies in the lab to assess sub-lethal effects and impairments in fish.
• Experience with fish husbandry of native and/or threatened California fish species.
• Experience with water quality equipment and testing methods (temperature, salinity, Redox, NH3/NH4, NO2, NO3, turbidity).
• Knowledge of statistical analysis using R.
• Knowledge of lab equipment including Osomometers, flame photometer, autoclaves, drying ovens, PCR, titrations, digital gas mixing valves.
