Job summary

El Dorado County Office of Education seeks a Fiscal Services Manager to lead the payroll or fiscal services unit, delivering strategic financial oversight and service excellence for the county, districts, and SELPA. This role reports to the Executive Director of Business Services and drives complex accounting and payroll operations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in school finance, with prior supervisory experience and California-specific knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or education; may be waived with five years of increasingly responsible experience in school finance/administration.
  • Experience in California school accounting/school finance or payroll/retirement reporting.
  • Proficiency with electronic spreadsheets, databases and computer data processing.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, manage, and direct operations of a payroll or fiscal services unit.
  • Provide leadership in strategic planning, fiscal oversight, and service delivery.
  • Supervise business staff and perform complex accounting/payroll tasks.
  • May manage a payroll or fiscal services unit serving the county office, districts, or SELPA.

Completion of a Chief Business Official (CBO) training program is beneficial. Experience: Prior job-related experience in California school accounting/school finance or payroll/retirement reporting, and electronic spreadsheet, databases and computer data processing. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
