Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking a dedicated accounting professional to join the Department Medicaid Support. You will prepare, review, and maintain financial records and supporting documentation, and handle journal entries and reconciliations.

You will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, month‑end tasks, and monitoring revenues, expenditures, budgets, and grants. Strong detail orientation and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience per job posting.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting policies and procedures.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial records and supporting documentation.
• Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting workpapers.
• Reviewing financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with procedures.
• Researching and resolving routine accounting discrepancies.
• Compiling and analyzing financial information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Preparing spreadsheets, schedules, and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
• Assisting with monitoring revenues, expenditures, budgets, grants, and cash activity.
• Maintaining organized accounting records and supporting audit requests.
