County of Kauaʻi seeks a Fiscal Officer II to administer fiscal and accounting programs for a department, assist management with fiscal matters and budget preparation, and supervise related staff. The role involves developing budgeting, cost accounting procedures, and presenting financial information to leadership.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or public administration and at least four years of professional accounting experience, including

Qualificações

• Combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a baccalaureate degree in accounting, business or public administration or related field.
• Four (4) years of professional accounting work experience, and one (1) year of supervisory work experience.
• Experience maintaining general journals and ledgers and preparing financial statements and reports.

Responsabilidades

• Administers the fiscal and accounting programs for an operating department or agency.
• Assists department management on fiscal matters and budget preparation.
• Directs budgeting processes, including capital improvement and operating budgets.
• Develops and refines cost accounting procedures and controls for expenditures.
• Advises management on fiscal policies and financial matters and presents findings to leadership.
