University of Oregon, in the College of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for Pro Tem Instructors in English to teach undergraduate composition to first-year students. Positions are limited duration and may be renewed based on need, funding, and performance.

Applicants should have an MA in English or related field; experience in teaching composition and inclusive pedagogy is expected. Occasional courses may include film, literature, and folklore as departmental needs evolve.

Qualifications

• M.A. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or related field.
• Three terms or two semesters of experience teaching composition to undergraduates.
• Experience using Canvas or another LMS to support in-person instruction.
• Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or a closely related field (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Teach undergraduate composition courses for first-year students.
• Contribute to program assessment and advise students during office hours.
• Attend Composition Program meetings and relateddepartment activities.
• Support inclusive teaching practices and student success.
