Shenandoah University’s Office of Admissions seeks a First-Year Admissions Counselor for our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. This full-time benefited role recruits students within a designated territory and guides them through the application and enrollment process.

The counselor builds relationships with prospective students and families, coordinates campus visits, and collaborates with faculty and staff to achieve enrollment goals and ensure a positive, informative admissions experience.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively as a member of the First-Year Recruitment team to analyze impact of recruitment strategies and create, implement and execute individual recruitment plans for the season.
• Propose and adjust prior years’ recruitment strategies and events, develop outreach campaigns and new events, and decide which high schools to visit or college fairs to attend.
• Develop innovative approaches to raise awareness and interest among groups within the territory, including prospective students, families, counselors, and community organizations.
• Review applications and determine best-fit candidates for admission within the territory and notify applicants of admission decisions.
