Job summary

Lakeshore Learning Materials is hiring a Yard Hostler, 1st Shift, at our Midway, Kentucky Distribution Center. The role focuses on safe trailer placement at doors and staging areas in a fast-paced warehouse.

Responsibilities include staging, trailer cleaning, maintaining shift communication, and using the Yard Management System. Requires a CDL, good attendance, and the ability to pass safety training.

Qualifications

• CDL required and clean MVR
• Ability to maneuver trailers (turning, backing, docking)
• Must pass Lakeshore safety training
• Good attendance and ability to follow schedule
• Willingness to work overtime as needed
• Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift as required

Responsibilities

• Stage trailers at assigned doors and loading/unloading areas
• Clean and sweep trailers as needed
• Maintain communication with supervision during shift
• Report truck issues to supervision promptly
• Follow all safety rules and use safety equipment
• Utilize and update the Yard Management System (YMS)
• Assist in warehouse duties as needed
