Job summary

thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. is seeking a first shift setup welder in Milwaukee, WI. The role involves fitting and welding fabricated components into machinery frames, planetary coolers, and shells using mild and stainless steel up to 5 inches thick.

Responsibilities include layout, fitting, welding, reading engineering drawings, and performing self-inspections. Overtime may be required to meet customer commitments, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Requires blueprint reading, welding symbols, and reading engineering drawings with tolerances.
• Knowledge of flux core and submerged arc welding processes.
• Safety-conscious with ability to work in a fabrication environment and wear PPE.
• Experience reading and interpreting welding symbols, tolerances, and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Set up components by layout, fitting, welding, and cleaning to produce finished weldments.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Perform flux core and submerged arc welding.
• Conduct self-inspection of your work.
• Operate cranes, forklifts, and hand tools safely as required.
• Work overtime as needed to meet customer commitments.
