Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking a Welder D to contribute to production of high-quality weldments using manual and mechanized welding techniques. You will set up and operate welding equipment, handle materials, and ensure welds meet strict quality standards.

This role emphasizes craftsmanship, safety and precision. The position is full-time, onsite, with a Monday-Friday schedule, 1st shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, welding certification preferred.
• Experience with Flux-Core Arc welding (FCAW) in multiple positions.
• Experience with carbon and alloy steels.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes).
• Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and mechanized FCAW welding in flat, horizontal, vertical positions.
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Set up and operate preheating equipment, weld positioners, and material handling equipment.
• Position and secure weldments and perform multiple pass welds.
• Inspect welds for size and quality and perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and conduct routine equipment maintenance.
• Assist in addressing drawing/procedure issues.
