Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a 1st Shift Weld Production Supervisor to oversee a team of manual and robotic welders, assign tasks, and maximize Robotic Welding department resources.

You will manage safety, quality, production and customer satisfaction while coordinating with supervisors, planning work, and maintaining production records to meet cost and delivery targets. Strong leadership and lean manufacturing experience are preferred, with SAP familiarity advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience with robotic weld equipment preferred.
• Experience ordering supplies, troubleshooting welding/production problems, performing welding tests for prospective welders.
• Experience in prototyping parts and fixtures, and communicating with end users.
• Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing.
• Prior experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safety, quality, production and customer satisfaction oversight.
• Supervise welders and robotic weld operators; assign tasks to meet quality and cost targets.
• Develop, implement departmental policies and procedures to adhere to safety standards and work regulations.
• Coordinate with management or subordinates to resolve problems and grievances.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to synchronize operations.
• Motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, and efficiency.
• Train employees on equipment operations or safety procedures.
• Direct and coordinate activities of production staff to meet goals.
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, and production schedules to determine requirements.
• Plan work schedules and production sequences to meet goals.
• Maintain attendance and timekeeping records daily.
• Ensure adherence to processes and complete required production paperwork.
• Requisition and order materials, supplies, and equipment parts.
• Monitor outputs to meet standards and customer specs.
• Provide recommendations for improvements; work with HR on grievances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
