Job summary

CF Rail Services is seeking a Mechanical Railcar Repair Technician 1 to join the team on 1st shift. The role focuses on repairing railcars, maintaining quality and adhering to CFRS safety procedures.

You will learn about different railcar components, operate tools, and document work performed on orders while supporting CFRS’s commitment to safe, efficient repairs for customers across North America.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Pass FRA Freight Car Safety Standards with 80% or higher score as coordinated by CF Rail Management.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs such as mechanical, grinding, cleaning, and touch up painting on various types of railcars.
• Set up and operate hand and power tools such as air arc, plasma cutting, Huck machines and oxy-fuel operation.
• Document work performed on work orders and record of additional repairs.
• Maintain a high level of quality with an understanding of CFRS quality assurance program.
• Learn CFRS safety procedures and understand railroad industry flow and repair logistics.
