Job summary

Quanex in Owatonna, Minnesota is seeking a Production Supervisor on 1st Shift to lead a manufacturing team on a Monday–Thursday 5:00 am–3:30 pm schedule, with overtime as needed. You will mentor direct reports, drive Lean, 5S, and safety initiatives to improve efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in manufacturing and at least 3 years of supervision, strong communication, and comfort with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years of manufacturing experience and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new hire training and cross training with direct reports.
• Develop and train employees on Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
• Ensure quality products are delivered to customers and processes are followed.
• Be a team player and support Production Supervisors across all shifts.
• Participate in safety committees, audits, and safety objectives.
• Understand labor efficiency and assist in reaching goals with sound business decisions.
