Job summary

Quanex in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Production Supervisor - 1st Shift to lead a manufacturing team Monday through Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm with overtime as needed. You will direct and mentor direct reports, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement through Lean, 5S, and safety initiatives.

You will coordinate training, develop JHAs, ensure quality products reach customers, participate in safety activities, and support other shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of manufacturing experience and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new hire training and cross-training with direct reports.
• Develop and train employees on Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
• Ensure quality products are delivered to customers and processes are followed.
• Be a team player and support Production Supervisors across all shifts.
• Participate in safety committees, audits, and company safety objectives.
• Understand labor efficiency and assist in achieving goals while making sound business decisions.
