Production Operator-First Shift

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for operating equipment used in the manufacturing of high-conductance flexible circuits and intelligent wiring systems consistent with established production and quality standards. Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment, inspect raw materials beforeloading onto machines, carry out basic quality checks such as testing of product or packaging before shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read work orders, set up, run and reset specified manufacturing equipment consistent with customer requirements, established production and quality standards, notify lead/supervisor of equipment failure or problems; seek to improve efficiency and make process change recommendations to Supervisors.
  • Prepare product throughout the production process using safety knives, scissors, & tweezers.
  • Locate, stock, build, & manage WIP from the production line in terms of storage & inventory control; load and unload material onto or from production fixed equipment to carriers & mobile racks; deliver WIP safely & efficiently throughout the production line & prepare shipments for delivery.
  • Operate safety sensitive and heavy equipment such as electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, & fixed equipment.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • May perform all system tracking activities in accordance with customer requirements and departmental guidelines; including, but not limited to entering accurate data into the company specified systems for job time and inventory tracking.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to Supervisor or area lead.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Experience/Education:

  • Previous production operations, material handling, or technician experience within a manufacturing or warehouse comparable environment preferred but not required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude are a must.
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing.
  • Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts, including days, nights, or weekends as needed. Ability to work overtime & change schedule on short notice as required.
  • Candidates with IPC 7711/7721 certification are strongly encouraged to apply.

PPE

  • May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.

Physical Demands – Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day. Position includes ability to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods of time. The employee must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds without assistance (including ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs). Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment – Manufacturing/Shop Environment

Includes a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to hazardous materials used during material prep process.
