Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods is seeking a Production Superintendent for the 1st shift in Council Bluffs, IA. The role oversees processing operations, drives safety, efficiency, and quality, and supports HR in building a strong supervisory team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years in a food manufacturing plant or similar; meat experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of production operations and lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Promotes a safe working environment and conducts injury investigations as needed.
• Directs processing operations to meet quality, schedule, and budget targets.
• Sets and tracks performance against targets, budgets and plans.
• Coordinates with other plant functions to ensure productivity and quality.
• Assists HR with hiring/training of shift supervisors and support for plant manager activities.
• Ensures equipment operation and maintenance to minimize downtime.
