Job summary

Perfetti Van Melle in Rockford is seeking a Production Team Lead to oversee start-up, shutdown, and day-to-day packaging/process operations. You will lead a safety-conscious team, coach staff, and ensure quality targets are met while using tools like Excel, Power BI, and SAP.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a food environment.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Ability to work overtime hours to meet customer demands.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
• Wears PPE such as safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection, uniform, hairnet, beard net, mask when required.
• Able to stand/walk and lift up to 50 pounds, and push/pull 350-pound carts.

Responsibilities

• Lead start-up and shutdown of packaging/process equipment.
• Oversee daily plant activities with a focus on safety and quality.
• Provide coaching and training to team members.
• Utilize data and DMAIC methods for problem solving.
• Escalate issues to leaders when necessary and engage HR for non-technical conflicts.
• Prepare written materials and deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
