Job summary

TekniPlex is hiring an Assistant Press Operator-1st Shift for our Madison, WI facility. As a Production Assistant, you will assist press operators, slitting operators, and/or compounding operators with the set up and operation to produce products per the customer standards.

The hourly range for this position is between $21 - $23 per hour. You will follow OHSE and Quality Systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience operating a press preferred.
• Proficient math and measurement skills, knowledge of metric conversion required.
• Knowledge of mechanics and general chemistry preferred.
• Basic knowledge of safety principles and eagerness to maintain safety standards.
• Ability to detect and solve problems that affect our finished products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the set-up and operation of printing and slitting equipment to meet quality and productivity requirements.
• Complete documentation in an accurate manner.
• Maintain housekeeping standards of production equipment and the surrounding area.
• Perform packing and material handling tasks as needed.
• Perform work in the cleaning room.
• Perform core cutting as required.
• Help the site meet quality objectives and follow safety rules.
• Assist with training as required.
• Participate in CIP and cost/product improvements.
• All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
