Job summary

Randstad, a leading staffing firm, is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator / Setup Machinist for a premier precision manufacturer in Hayward, CA. You will set up, operate, and validate multi-axis turning on complex parts in a high-mix environment, requiring blueprint literacy, GD&T, and first-piece inspection skills.

3+ years of hands-on experience and proficiency with Fanuc/Haas controls are preferred.

Qualifications

3+ years CNC lathe setup and operation in a high-precision shop.
Experience with Mori Seiki, Nakamura-Tome, Haas, or Samsung lathes.
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
Proficient in G-code and M-code programming.
Experience with Fanuc or Haas CNC controls.
Must be able to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation: Perform complete setups, prove-out programs, and operate 2-axis to multi-axis CNC Lathes.
Machining & Controls: Load programs, set tool offsets, establish work coordinates, and make minor G-code/M-code edits at the control.
Quality & Inspection: Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using standard precision measuring tools.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex engineering blueprints, GD&T symbols, and job traveler instructions.
Tooling Management: Select, inspect, set up, and adjust cutting tools and workholding fixtures.
Process Improvement: Collaborate with quality and engineering to troubleshoot issues and optimize cycle times.
Maintenance & Safety: Maintain a clean work area and perform preventive maintenance.
