Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st Shift Pouring Operator at our Tupelo/Verona, MS manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacture of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule. As an hourly Pouring Operator, the successful candidate will communicate daily with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with the

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must be hoist and forklift certified.
• 3-6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test and participate on the HAZMAT team.

Responsibilities

• Set up paper and plastics for each day’s production.
• Monitor paper and plastic during production.
• Maintain a neat, orderly and safe working environment.
• Assists operators in setting up and shutting down each pour and during trough changes.
