Job summary

Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA is seeking a 1st shift Preventative Maintenance Technician to service all machines, perform PMs, troubleshoot issues, and support the maintenance team. Candidates should have strong mechanical skills and be able to work overtime as needed.

Required HS/GED, manufacturing experience, and ability to work in a high-safety environment. DOT card and forklift license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Must have valid DOT card and forklift license.
• Willing to work any shift and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Engage in preventive maintenance of machinery, including fluid and filter changes.
• Identify and replace worn components before breakdowns.
• Maintain PM readings on all equipment.
• Assist technicians or mechanics as needed.
• Perform ball bar testing on CNC equipment.
• Maintain tools and records for PMs.
