Job summary

Smith & Wesson in Springfield, MA is seeking a maintenance technician to conduct, maintain, test and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will analyze malfunctions and restore equipment to operation while supporting all manufacturing areas.

The role requires 5–7 years of relevant experience, arc flash training, and willingness to work 12‑hour shifts with overtime. High school diploma or GED and formal apprenticeship preferred.

Qualifications

• Duties require decision making on problems not normally encountered.
• 5-7 years of proven experience in electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields are required.
• Willing to work 12 Hr. shifts and overtime as required.
• Must possess required licenses and arc flash training.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex electrical and mechanical service work in production, tooling support, plant and machine maintenance.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment including PLCs and drives.
• Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Advises operators on operation procedures and safety requirements for equipment.
