Job summary

Smith & Wesson, a leading firearms manufacturer in Springfield, MA, seeks a skilled maintenance technician. The role focuses on electrical/electronic and mechanical systems, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance within a busy manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will troubleshoot PLC-based controls, operate safely, and collaborate with operators and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

5-7 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and diagnostic instrumentation.
Must interface and communicate effectively with line operators and maintenance staff.
Licensed where required; arc flash training completed.

Responsibilities

Perform complex electrical and mechanical service across production, tooling, plant, and maintenance.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment including PLC-based controls.
Plan work with knowledge of codes and safety procedures; start up and shut down equipment per procedures.
Advise operators on operation procedures and safety requirements.
Maintain performance and maintenance records; perform preventive maintenance.
Diagnose, rebuild and repair equipment; train other staff as needed.
Work 12-hour shifts and overtime as required.
