Job summary

Woods Equipment Company, part of the Oregon Tool family, is hiring a Welder I for our Oregon, IL production site. You will weld components, set up fixtures, and ensure assemblies meet specifications in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year welding experience, ability to read blueprints, and commitment to safety. On-site work with overtime as needed; benefits include health, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year of welding-related experience gained through technical training, certification programs, apprenticeships, or hands-on work experience.
• Ability to successfully complete the company's internal Welder I qualification test.
• Commitment to following all safety policies, procedures, and required PPE standards.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain welding screens and protective barriers for a safe work environment.
• Maintain organized, production-ready workstations.
• Strong verbal and written communication to interact across the facility.
• Ability to read safety documentation, blueprints, work instructions, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, welds components together in a production environment.
• Set up and position components for welding operations with strong hand-eye coordination.
• Perform welds according to established processes, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain weld fixture integrity and ensure assemblies meet dimensional specs.
• Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement focused on quality, efficiency and safety.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining craftsmanship.
• Support additional manufacturing responsibilities as assigned.
