Woods Equipment Company is seeking a Welder I to join its manufacturing team. Located onsite, the role focuses on welding components to exact specifications and maintaining quality throughout production.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year welding-related experience via training or hands-on work.
• Must pass Welder I qualification test.

Responsibilities

• Welds components in a production environment under supervision.
• Set up and position components for welding using proper fixtures.
• Perform welds per processes, instructions, and quality standards.
• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical specs.
• Maintain weld fixtures and equipment; report needed maintenance.
• Work with MIG welding and various materials; ensure quality.
• Aim to meet production schedules with craftsmanship and safety.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and safety initiatives.

Hourly Rate: $22.10 - $24.50

Shift: Monday - Thursday; 5a - 330p

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Under supervision, welds components together in a production environment.

THE DETAILS

• Set up and position components for welding operations, using strong hand-eye coordination to produce quality welds.
• Perform welds according to established processes, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain weld fixture integrity and help ensure completed assemblies meet dimensional specifications.
• Execute welds in flat and horizontal positions while meeting production and quality requirements.
• Work with a variety of materials, including carbon steel and other metal alloys, utilizing MIG and related welding processes.
• Alert team leaders or supervisors when fixtures, tooling, or equipment require maintenance, repair, or adjustment.
• Complete welding assignments that may require multiple welding positions and varying levels of complexity.
• Perform work involving structural, load-bearing, pressure-related, cosmetic, or safety-sensitive applications.
• Adjust welding parameters, consumables, and equipment settings to achieve optimal results.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, and technical specifications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Support additional manufacturing responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year of welding-related experience gained through technical training, certification programs, apprenticeships, or hands-on work experience.
• Ability to successfully complete the company's internal Welder I qualification test.
• Commitment to following all safety policies, procedures, and required PPE standards.
• Maintain welding screens and protective barriers to ensure a safe work environment for others.
• Keep workstations organized, clean, and production-ready.
• Demonstrated ability to complete assignments accurately, professionally, and within established timelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all areas of the facility.
• Ability to read and understand safety documentation, blueprints, work instructions, and operating procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or potential hazards.
• Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a desire to continuously expand technical knowledge and skills.
• Participate in cross-training opportunities and provide support in other departments when needed.

AVAILABILITY

• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment.
• Available to work first shift hours.
• Standard schedule consists of 40 hours per week, with overtime available and expected as business needs and production requirements dictate.
• Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to support customer demand and operational goals.
