Job summary

McWane, Inc. is seeking a Melt and Materials Lab Supervisor to ensure iron melt production success and high-quality metal castings through testing, analysis, and communication of results with internal and external stakeholders.

In this role you will lead production control, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement, coordinating resources, equipment, and personnel. A strong background in metallurgy and manufacturing leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Office proficiency and strong Excel skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Understanding and experience with Induction Furnaces/holder, Autopour equipment, pouring ladles.
• Experience in CNC programming and molten metal handling is desired.
• Ability to analyze data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis.
• Manufacturing and casting knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead production control and sustainability efforts; set priorities and allocate resources for melting and pouring.
• Communicate with foreman and staff to ensure safe, efficient operations and quality.
• Coordinate daily material flow, inventory, and reporting; ensure accurate weekly/monthly data.
• Drive process improvement by testing equipment and analyzing results to boost productivity and safety.
• Support maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and establish standardization of procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering to stay current with industry trends and share knowledge with the team.
