Job summary

Openwork is hiring a Machine Operator (Shop Worker) for a leading manufacturer in Northeast Houston. This 1st shift role involves operating and monitoring heavy production equipment, reading work orders, and ensuring quality and safety.

We offer a Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule, weekly pay, and a temp‑to‑hire path. Candidates should have at least 3 years of manufacturing and machine‑operating experience, with strong mechanical aptitude and reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial machine operating experience.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor heavy industrial production equipment.
• Set up machines according to production specifications.
• Operate a 15‑foot press and assist with a 500‑ton machine.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and production instructions.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Perform basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
