Job summary

Covia in Ottawa, MN is seeking a First Shift Maintenance Technician to support the Operations team. The role focuses on safe, efficient maintenance of plant equipment and adherence to MSHA CFR procedures, with a emphasis on reducing downtime and quality issues.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, maintenance experience in an industrial setting, and basic computer skills. Heavy equipment experience is a plus; physical endurance is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous maintenance experience is required.
• Previous experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and data entry are required.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
• Previous experience within mining operations a plus.
• Must possess the ability to perform in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable MSHA regulations as outlined in CFR and procedures.
• Carry out activities safely to avoid unacceptable risk.
• Adhere to site procedures and supervisor instructions.
• Operate equipment safely to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and professionally.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects as necessary.
• Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.
