Job summary

Pilgrim’s Hatchery in Concord, NC is hiring a hands-on Hatchery Operator to support safe, efficient incubation and chick production. You’ll handle eggs, monitor incubators, assist with hatching, and perform quality checks to uphold animal care and biosecurity standards.

The role requires teamwork, reliability and physical stamina in a fast-paced environment; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred and high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Poultry or food-industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Team player with attention to detail.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle and set eggs in incubators according to procedures.
• Monitor incubation conditions (temperature, humidity, ventilation).
• Assist with chick hatching and transfer.
• Perform quality checks on eggs and chicks for health and biosecurity.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Record data on egg counts, hatch rates, and chick quality.
• Follow biosecurity and animal welfare protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
