Job summary

TRIGO Heavy Transportation in Lafayette, IN is hiring a Forklift Operator for first shift. This non-exempt role pays $17.00 per hour and requires English proficiency, strong safety awareness, and forklift experience.

You will inspect equipment, move materials, pick/pack shipments, and help maintain inventory accuracy while following 5S and safety policies. Prior forklift and warehouse experience preferred; GED or high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• English language skills required for reading and speaking.
• Good communications skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Lafayette site.
• Experience with forklift operation and material handling.
• Experience with inventory counting, order picking, packing and shipping.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and basic computer use.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and standards.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials and products within the facility to support operations.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report safety concerns.
• Safely operate forklifts and secure trucks/trailers before loading/unloading.
• Receive, store, move, and stage materials in the warehouse.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment per requirements.
• Conduct inventory counts and reconciliations to maintain accuracy.
• Verify quantities, labels, and documentation for shipments.
• Band/strap products and ensure proper placarding on shipments.
• Maintain organized warehouse and assist with inspections and safety policies.
