Job description

TRIGO Heavy Transportation has a current opening for a Forklift Operator within our Lafayette, IN team. This is a first shift non-exempt position with an hourly pay rate of $17.00.

Overall Purpose

Ensure Quality services and provide Forklift support for all missions assigned to their site

Reports to

Di rect: S ite Manager /Site Supervisor Indirect: Area Manager/ Director of Operation

Responsibilities

(Including, but not limited to, the following)

Client Relationship & Business Development

• Transport materials and products throughout the facility to support efficient warehouse and production operations.

Operations

• Perform daily forklift inspections (circle check/walk-around) at the beginning of each shift and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
• Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Verify that trucks and trailers are properly secured before loading and unloading.
• Perform blind tallies using a lumberman's count on inbound and outbound shipments, when required .
• Accurately receive, store, move, and stage materials within the warehouse.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer and company requirements.
• Conduct inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliations to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Verify quantities, labels, and documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments. Record any quantity changes on tally sheets and re-count when variances are identified .
• Band/strap products and verify material is properly prepared for shipment.
