Job summary

Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op in Wyoming, MI seeks a 1st Shift Truck Maintenance Technician to support Load & Haul operations in a hands-on role. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and related equipment, ensuring safe, reliable performance.

The role requires adherence to USDA, MIOSHA, HACCP, GMP standards and company core values. CDL is a plus; high school diploma preferred, with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a truck, diesel, heavy-equipment mechanic.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and heavy-duty vehicle components.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Must have good mechanical ability or aptitude.
• Must adhere to lock out/tag out requirements and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair agricultural trucks, pickups, trailers, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, brake inspections, fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic, electrical, brakes, steering and suspension components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and minor equipment modifications when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts and maintenance performed.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with leadership to minimize equipment downtime.
