Job summary

Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op in Wyoming, MI is seeking a 1st Shift Truck Maintenance Technician to support the Load & Haul team. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining and repairing trucks, trailers, and related equipment to meet safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, diagnosing diesel engines and hydraulic/electrical systems, keeping accurate repair records, and working with leadership to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience as a truck, diesel, heavy-equipment mechanic.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and heavy-duty vehicle components.
• Must have a valid driver’s license. CDL is a plus.
• Must have good mechanical ability or aptitude.
• Must adhere to lock out / tag out requirements.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must be able to work safely and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair agricultural trucks, pickups, trailers, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and suspension components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and minor equipment modifications when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, and maintenance performed.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
• Coordinate with Load & Haul leadership to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all applicable workplace, equipment, and environmental safety procedures.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by leadership and/or management.
