Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a 1st shift Brake Press Operator in Canton, OH to set up and operate brake/punch/press machinery. You will read blueprints, measure parts, and ensure correct die alignment and press settings.

The role emphasizes reading blueprints, precision measurements, and hands-on metal fabrication in a shop environment. It is a contract-to-hire position onsite with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Proficiency in reading blueprints and making precise measurements.
Experience with mechanical machine operations, specifically Brake Press, CNC, or Turret Press is a PLUS.
Familiarity with mechanical troubleshooting, and experience in sheet metal fabrication.
Ability to use micrometers, calipers, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

Set up and align components.
Fasten clamp bar using setscrews or bolts to secure dies in position.
Adjust screws to set specified pressure of ram and clearance between dies according to the thickness of metal.
Lay out or detail layout on work stock based on blueprints or templates.
Set stops on machine bed and reposition stock for successive pieces or multiple operations.
Measure dimensions of work-piece, perform first piece and random inspection of production.
