Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Omaha is hiring a 1st Press Operator to run the press at the target production rate while maintaining quality and efficiency. You will support the re-winder, pull rolls, train apprentices, and collaborate with the B Pressman.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 3 years of printing-press experience, with strong reading of proofs and good communication.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in printing press (flexographic wide web strongly preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, proofs and spec sheets.
• Ability to effectively communicate with fellow employees.

Responsibilities

• Run the press at the targeted production rate while maintaining quality.
• Operate the re-winder and pull rolls from the press.
• Assist in training press apprentices following established procedures.
• Check print quality against specifications on every roll; adjust color as needed.
• Work as a team with the B Pressman within restrictions and capabilities.
