Job summary

SA-TECH seeks two First Mates to oversee safety of crew and navigation in the absence of the Captain on RSC vessels at Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego. O&M and training range support, with offshore operations and varied schedules.

Requirements include US citizenship, DoD clearance eligibility, and valid USCG 500GT credentials. Overtime is required, with periodic sea periods and shore/sea rotations.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience as Mate of a 500GT vessel
• USCG 500GT Mate Near Coastal Waters with medical certificate
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD SECRET clearance
• Current Driver’s License and insurability of government vehicles

Responsibilities

• Reports directly to the vessel Captain
• Oversees deck department daily operations
• Coordinates large maintenance activities with Engineering
• Participates in deck operations as needed
• Responsible for shipboard safety equipment
