Job summary

AdvanSix is hiring a First Line Supervisor to direct hourly employees and ensure safety, quality and productivity across assigned areas. You will plan procedures, manage budgets per the collective bargaining agreement, and lead teams in problem solving and continuous improvement.

The role requires 2–5 years in manufacturing, supervisory experience, and familiarity with 24/7 and rotating shifts. Strong leadership and a commitment to safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial, or chemical plant environment
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in 24/7 operation and rotating shifts preferred
• Knowledge of Six Sigma Lean tools preferred
• ERP/Timekeeping systems experience (SAP/R Kronos) and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Direct hourly employees to achieve tasks and targets
• Plan and administer procedures and budgets per union agreement
• Lead workforce in problem solving and continuous improvement
• Engage team leaders to improve processes and performance
• Oversee 10–20 employee department focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Interview, select and train team leaders and employees
• Manage schedules and standardize work practices
• Lead 5S activities and drive continuous improvement culture
• Communicate daily with shifts and peers on safety, quality and productivity
• Escalate issues through the defined escalation process
• Drive AdvanSix Operating System principles and performance appraisals
