Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking an experienced First Line Supervisor in Engineering (EFLS) for Alliance, NE. This full‑time role includes leadership, training and safety responsibilities across Track or Structures teams in a 24/7 environment.

Travel up to 75% is required and relocation may be necessary after the initial training period. Starting rate is $93,700 with potential promotion to $96,000–$106,900 within 4–6 months.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
• Does not require employer sponsorship to obtain employment authorization.
• Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, including nights, weekends and holidays, with up to 75% travel.
• Willing and able to relocate anywhere within the BNSF operating system.
• Has reliable transportation to and from work.
• At least three years of military and/or professional experience supervising five or more employees.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, repair, and construct track infrastructure to uphold BNSF's standards.
• Participate in projects related to track infrastructure maintenance, construction and innovation.
• Collaborate with engineers and managers to learn and apply best practices in railway engineering.
• Gain insights into safety, regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Foster cross-functional teamwork to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Administer, supervise and coordinate maintenance, construction, inspection and operation of bridges and structures.
