Job summary

Tremendous is seeking its first Head of Security to own the security posture across production infrastructure and code. You will work hands-on initially, then shape and scale the security function by defining the team, tools, and processes.

The role reports to the VP of Engineering and embeds security with engineering to drive fast, practical risk containment, including AI tooling governance. You’ll lead incident response, develop policy, and align security with real business needs, all while

Qualifications

• Hands-on security experience at scale, ideally as an early security hire.
• Experience defining security posture across product, production security, and access/identity.
• Ability to read code and security tooling to reason about risks.
• Judgment over checklists; balance security with business needs.
• Experience building or co-building a small security team is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own Tremendous’s security posture end-to-end across infrastructure and code.
• Prioritize gaps and drive high-leverage security improvements.
• Manage incident response to keep breaches small and contained.
• Lead cultural shift; introduce controls with teams, not over them.
• Oversee AI-security posture and risk management of AI tooling.
• Define staffing needs and hire the security team.
