Job summary

VALLEJO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Teacher to provide an educational program for pupils under the supervision of the School Site Principal. The position involves teaching reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music and citizenship as per the adopted Board of Education course of study.

Maintain pupil behavior standards and communicate progress to parents.

Qualifications

• Must have an appropriate credential as required by the District and the State.
• Ability to create a positive and effective learning environment for all pupils.

Responsibilities

• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music and citizenship to pupils following the Board of Education-adopted course of study.
• Motivates pupils with planned learning experiences and manages instructional time effectively.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior for a productive learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates pupil progress and communicates with parents on each pupil’s growth.
• Assists in curriculum development and participates in related school activities.
