Job summary

Responsibilities

• Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music and citizenship to pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other learning activities.
• May teach a foreign language.
• Provides planned learning experiences to motivate pupils and utilize available time for instruction.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Evaluates pupil’s academic and social growth, keeps records, prepares progress reports, and communicates with parents on progress.
• Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
