Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife seeks an experienced kitchen professional to safely prepare entrees, vegetables, salads, and desserts across all stations in a high-volume setting in Dedham, MA.

You will ensure portion control, recipe adherence, proper temperatures, and sanitation while training staff and coordinating with the Sous Chef to meet daily menus and special diets. This role requires physical stamina and ServSafe certification within 6 months where applicable.

Qualifications

• 5 years of cooking experience required.
• ServSafe Certification required or obtained within 6 months.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare entrees, vegetables, salads, and desserts per recipes and menus.
• Pull and thaw frozen foods as scheduled.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and safe handling.
• Conduct daily inventory and prep for the day’s menus.
• Coach and train kitchen staff on techniques and safety.
• Ensure sanitation and proper storage of all areas and equipment.
• Read and execute dietary guidelines and special diet needs.
