Job summary

Gulf Copper is seeking a qualified Welder to join our marine repair and construction team. You will read blueprints, set up welding systems, and weld steel plates and pipes in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

Work may involve cutting and grinding, and safety is emphasized in all tasks. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and 6 months to 1 year of welding experience, with ABS/ASME weld test passing as a requirement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, some college or technical school certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of welding experience or equivalent.
• Must pass ABS or ASME weld test.

Responsibilities

• Welds steel plates and pipes for repair/construction of marine vessels and equipment.
• Read blueprints, sketches and technical manuals; set up and operate welding equipment.
• Work in flat, vertical, or overhead positions and perform cutting/grinding as needed.
• Ensure welds meet standards and specifications; inspect and document results.
• Utilize a variety of welding processes (gas, arc, TIG, FCAW) as required.
