Qualifications

• Graduate of LPN or Certified Surgical Tech program with evidence of completed First Assistant certification.
• At least five (5) years of OR experience.
• Ability to lift and stand for long periods.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work well with physicians and clinic/hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist as First Assistant to the surgeon in operative procedures.
• Prepare the operative field (skin prep, draping) and review equipment.
• May perform designated wound closure with surgeon approval.
• May write orders and progress notes for surgeon review.
• May request supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Promote cooperation with related hospital and clinic personnel.
