Job summary

Elmcrest Country Club seeks an experienced PGA Assistant Golf Professional to enhance the member experience at our Cedar Rapids private club. The ideal candidate is on the path to Head Golf Professional within 2–3 years, with strong private club instruction and merchandising experience, and a proven ability to engage members across social and competitive events.

Responsibilities include assisting the Head Professional, supervising outside staff, mentoring assistants, and representing the club

Qualifications

• Class A PGA Professional is required.
• 2-3 years of private club experience preferred.
• Experience in private and group instruction required.
• Merchandising experience preferred.

The Club

Elmcrest Country Club, founded in 1947, is a premier member-owned private club in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It offers a championship 18-hole course, year-round racquets (tennis/pickleball), aquatics, wellness, and family programming. The club holds a special place in golf's story: it is the "home course" of Zach Johnson, Masters and Open Champion, and annually hosts the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic-bringing national visibility and PGA/LPGA professionals to Cedar Rapids.

The Opportunity

Elmcrest Country Club seeks an experienced PGA Assistant Golf Professional who will help contribute to the overall Member Experience at Elmcrest Country Club.

A member first attitude is required.

This position will also play an integral role within the Golf Operation.

• 18 holes of golf
• Annual Rounds: ~19,800
• Cart Fleet: 55 Yamaha carts (new 2024)
• Member Leagues & Tournaments:
• Men's League (160 members)
• Ladies' League (50 members)
• 5 major member tournaments annually
• Corporate Golf Outings: 6 annually (including the Zach Johnson Foundation Classic)

The ideal candidate is an individual that is 2-3 years away from becoming a Head Golf Professional

Experience Required

• Class A PGA Professional - Required
• 2-3 Years Private Club Experience - Preferred
• Merchandising Experience - Preferred
• Private and Group Instruction Experience - Required

Essential Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Professional with day to day management of the overall golf operation
• Direct supervision of the outside service team
• A mentor to the Assistant Golf Professional team
• Visibility with the membership is a must
• Playing golf with a variety different member groups as time allows
