Job summary

Elk Rapids GC is seeking an apprentice or PGM student to join our busy, laid-back nine-hole operation. You will support the Director of Golf, learn every aspect of the golf business, and help grow the junior program during the season.

This role includes handling greens fee collection, member payments, cash reconciliation, assisting with merchandising in the pro shop, and aiding league presidents with scoring and results; opportunities to teach lessons and run events.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• General golf knowledge required.
• Apprentice or PGM student seeking broad golf-industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Golf with daily operations of collecting greens fees, member payments and reconcilliation of cash drawers.
• Lead a Jr Golf Program and provide lessons to our general membership.
• Assist with league Presidents in card printing, scoring and results.
• Overseeing both the cart attendants and starters.
• Assist with merchandising in a high traffic, newly opened Pro Shop.

Overview

Elk Rapids GC is a very busy, yet extemely laid-back, 9 hole Donald Ross design overlooking beautiful Elk Lake. ERGC will be heading into it's second century of operation in 2025 & is a semi-private club with 275 stock members and a waitlist of 383 that enjoy the season which runs from April 15-October 15.

Perfect position for those candidates who still have the desire to work in warmer climates from November-March.

Our new Pro Shop opened two seasons ago which certified the club's committment of continuing to be the premier 9 hole facility in the country.

ERGC is in the process of expanding it's tournament and league offerings and will be looking for the candidate who is going to enthusiastically grow the schedule of events.

Experience Required

• Prefer an apprentice or a PGM student that will be looking to learn every aspect of the golf business
• General Golf knowledge and understanding of basic principles with a HS Diploma
