Job summary

Advanced Cosmetic Surgery in Greenville, SC seeks a full-time Surgical Scrub Tech, First Assist to join the operating room team. The role supports the surgeon with instrument handling, exposure, and intraoperative tasks to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Reports to the surgical team under physician supervision. The ideal candidate holds a CST/CSFA credential or is enrolled in an accredited program, with hands-on surgical experience and strong composure under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent: prerequisite for entry into postsecondary surgical technology programs.
• Hands-on experience through internships, externships, or prior employment as a surgical technologist.
• Continued education and training to stay current with advances in techniques and technologies.
• Technical skills and proficiency essential for intraoperative tasks.
• Certification as CST and/or CSFA by NBSTSA confirms proficiency.
• Ability to perform under pressure with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong communication with the surgical team and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Communicate surgeon preferences and patient needs to the surgical team.
• Position the patient to provide exposure for the procedure and surgeon preference.
• Provide intraoperative skills: visualization, trocar insertion, local anesthetic injection, hemostasis, tissue handling, wound drains, closure.
• Know and use open, laparoscopic, and robotic equipment as needed.
• Perform suturing and other technical tasks during the procedure.
• Close incisions with appropriate suturing techniques.
• Apply dressings postoperatively and assist in patient transfer and care.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure continuity of care.
