Job summary

ISC - Interconnect Solutions Company seeks a qualified Quality Inspector to complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) per AS9102, coordinating with the Quality, Final Inspection/QC/Testing, NPI and Engineering teams to ensure accuracy and conformance to procedures and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• FAIRs per AS9102 standard experience.

• Good vision and hearing; basic arithmetic and measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete AS9102 FAIRs per customer and industry requirements.
• Review documents for accuracy: drawings, specs, travelers, pick lists, BOMs, supplier certifications.
• Verify FAI parts with inspection gauges, measuring tools, microscope, and camera as needed.
• Maintain safe working environment and report hazards.
• Be punctual and adhere to schedules; work additional hours as needed to meet orders and projects.
• Meet challenging time targets to satisfy customer demands.
• Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Summary

This employee is responsible for completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR’s) per AS9102 Standard, and will involve working with multiple departments, including the Quality Dept. itself, Final Inspection/QC/Testing Dept., NPI Dept., and Engineering Dept. Responsible for assigned jobs/tasks by Director of Quality Assurance and Quality Engineers. Must complete work in a timely manner with accuracy, have strong attention to detail, integrity, and ensure conformance to operating procedures and customer requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Complete AS9102 FAIR’s per customer and industry requirements.
• Review the following documents for accuracy when completing FAIR’s: Drawing Notes, Specifications, Travelers/Routers, Pick Lists, BOM’s, Supplier Certifications, and any other applicable documents necessary in order to complete FAIR’s.
• Ability to verify the FAI part(s) with inspection gages, measuring tools, microscope, and camera, as needed.
• Maintain safe working environment and report any potential hazards.
• Be punctual in attendance and general work schedule breaks and lunch.
• Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and special projects to meet customer or internal demands.
• Ability to meet challenging time targets to meet customer demands.
• Additional duties may be assigned if required.

Competency Requirements

• Basic to Intermediate level of understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality system.
• Knowledge of AS9102 Standard for FAIR’s at an intermediate to high level.
• Standard understanding of record keeping and reporting.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
• Produces mostly error-free work the first time with little waste or redone work.
• Standard understanding of Microsoft Office.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate and interface well with the Quality Dept. and other departments.
• Basic knowledge of IPC standards.
• Passing all internal ISC training programs.
• Fully abide by ISC policies and procedures.
• Speak and read English (Conversational in any other language is a plus.)
• Good vision and hearing.
• Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
• Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.

Education And/Or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent, (e.g., GED, vocational school diploma.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries preferred.
• Good knowledge of blueprint reading.

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND SAFETY

• Ability to stay on your feet for prolonged periods of time and mobility to get around facility without limitations.
• Ability to sit and work at a station for prolonged periods of time without limitation.
• Standard safety requirements.
