Job summary

Cricut is seeking a Systems Verification & Validation Engineer to test firmware and hardware for cutting machines and small appliances. You will design and execute test plans, report defects, and work with firmware teams across Windows, Mac, iOS, and Linux environments.

You will apply automation testing skills, validate USB/Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi capabilities, and help ensure high quality releases. The role requires collaboration with contract manufacturers and strong documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience writing clear, concise test scenarios, cases and plans.
• Experience executing tests, debugging, analyzing results, reporting defects and updating stakeholders.
• Knowledge of USB, Bluetooth, BLE and Wi‑Fi protocols.
• Experience with microcontrollers and motor drivers; sensing/feedback control systems.
• Experience testing USB/wireless device software on Windows and Mac.
• Programming experience in Swift, Dart, C/C++ and Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate project plans with contract manufacturers in Asia.
• Create procedures to reproduce firmware/software bugs.
• Familiarity with Windows, Mac, iOS and Linux; knowledge of interactive shells.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an organized test plan to release high quality products on schedule.
• Test firmware and hardware for new and existing products.
• Communicate QA concerns in cross-functional meetings and provide end-user feedback.
• Run automation test suites and maintain test scripts.
• Represent QA in cross-functional team discussions and drive quality improvements.
