Job summary

Leonardo DRS in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Technical Intern - Firmware to join a multi-disciplinary engineering team and contribute to firmware development on MCU/FPGA platforms. You will interact with PC-based software to communicate with the firmware, participate in testing, and learn through hands-on projects.

Ideal candidates are engineering students in CE/EE/CS programs, are eager to learn, and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a related engineering degree with progress toward a CE/EE/CS program.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to network within a team.
• Diligent, hardworking and quick to learn new concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in conducting various engineering assignments.
• Work with microcontrollers and FPGA platforms and develop PC software to communicate with FW.
• Follow basic work instructions and learn fundamentals of the company.
• Perform limited scope testing on PC and embedded platforms under supervision.
• Complete tasks on time and gather data for engineers; assist with design details.
