Job summary

Urban Solutions (LUS) seeks a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead embedded software across micromobility products, including e-bikes, scooters, batteries, and charging infrastructure. You will define the technical roadmap for NPI and fleet sustainability while building a high‑performing team.

The role requires deep embedded expertise, people leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and scalable firmware deployed in cities worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 8+ years of C/C++ embedded experience, with 2+ years in leadership.
• Experience translating product needs into team roadmaps and schedules.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262, MISRA C, EN 18031 and related safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of firmware engineers across micromobility products.
• Set technical direction for core firmware systems, including OTA and safety-critical components.
• Own OTA updates and fleet operations strategy, diagnostics, and field recovery.
• Partner with hardware, software, product, data science, manufacturing, and compliance teams.
• Own team planning: roadmaps, sprint/release plans, staffing, and performance management.
• Drive continuous improvement for reliability, safety, and rider experience.
• Represent firmware in regulatory certification efforts and standards compliance.
• Build engineering rigor: CI/CD, HIL testing, code reviews, on-call processes.
• Communicate risks and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support career development and cross-team initiatives.
